Areas of Construction at the School

There are two areas of construction that are taking place at or near the school that we would like to bring to the attention of parents:

  1. Meadowlands Park is having the paths re-paved.  This means that children are not allowed to travel through Meadowlands Park on their way to or from school.  The construction workers have installed orange construction fencing and it is very important that students not go over or under this fencing.  There is a very narrow path that has been left through the park gate at the back of the school closest to Thoroughbred Blvd.  It runs along the back fence of our school playground over to the cement access path to Thoroughbred Blvd (it does not allow access into the park).  Students on bikes would likely have trouble squeezing through this path on their bikes.  The construction supervisor has warned that the police will be called if students try to through the construction fencing.
  2. The School Board has stated the process of disconnecting 6 of our portables as they are needed at other schools for September.  There may be days when construction workers will be working in or around the portables.  We are being careful to keep students aware, marking off safety areas, and providing extra supervision to ensure the grounds are safe.
