iPad secure browsing

As a TLE school, our grade 4 & 5 students have access to 1:1 ipads. The remainder of the school shares ipads in their classrooms. While in HWDSB buildings, ipads are protected through HWDSB security measures. There are firewalls and filters that restrict web content.
Unfortunately these filters and firewalls do not extend to student homes. Web site access at home is controlled through your home server (i.e. Bell, Cogeco, Rogers) and/or the modem you have at home. There are a number of parental controls that you can enable to restrict certain web content. Of course parental supervision and awareness of children’s web browsing is always the first step in promoting safe internet practices.
