“Fun Raiser” Due

October 27, 2017

Tuesday, October 31st will be our second annual Halloween Dance “Fun”-raiser! There will be a DJ, Ian MacLeod with spooky music and lighting, Christie McKay-Hofland from Dancemakerz will be leading cool dances, Halloween mystery sensory boxes, costumes, prizes, and best of all lots of FUN! That’s right, we DO want students to come to school in their costumes, after all, this is a Halloween Dance “Fun”-raiser. All students will have the opportunity to participate in this fun day!!!

Why Are We Doing This?

Last year all funds raised by School Council supported many initiatives like ‘Scientists in the Schools’, subsidizing field trips and buses, and dance workshops. School Council’s goal again this year is to be able to fund experiences that will enrich classroom learning, which in turn will help reduce/eliminate extra costs to AAG parents.

Students:

All you have to do is talk to your family and friends and ask them to sponsor you for the Dance “Fun”-raiser. *Please do not go door-to-door.* Have them fill out the pledge sheet and return it to the school in a sealed envelope. Cheques should be made payable to Allan A. Greenleaf. You may begin collecting pledges today, and have all the way until Friday October 27th to bring them in! It’s that simple! Make sure that you return them by this date in order to be guaranteed an extra chance at winning the main prizes. Class that raises the most money wins a pizza party.

Prizes:

What’s a Dance-A-Thon without prizes? There will be prizes for the children that wear costumes, three main prizes for collecting pledges and a pizza party for the class that raises the most money. Costume categories are Best Duo/Group, Most Original, Cutest/Funniest, Creative/Best Homemade, Most Colourful. EVERYONE will be entered into a participation draw of $25.00 ITunes gift cards BUT if you bring in pledges than you will be given an extra ballot to win the gift cards.
