Construction Update

Dear families,

As you may know, we are very excited to see construction underway for our shade structure and outdoor classroom. These will be great additions to the Adelaide Hoodless play area.

Today this work led to some changes to student routines, in the interests of student safety. We noticed before entry that the construction area was not completely closed off with gates. School and board staff spoke with the contractor and gates were in place to close off the work site by 10 a.m.

Safety is a priority at our school. So that students were not near the heavy equipment and work zone, staff supervised school entry at the beginning of the day, kept students inside during recess and will use a safe dismissal process today. We are in communication with the contractor to ensure the work is done in a timely manner to minimize disruption.

This is important work to our playground, and we are happy to see it underway. We know that it may lead to some changes in routines, however, and we appreciate the understanding of our school community.
