What An Amazing Day!!!

Thank you to the 100+ community members, parents, students, and staff who came out today to participate in the depave paradise initiative at Adelaide Hoodless Elementary School. It was an amazing day and accomplishment.

We removed 2200 square feet of asphalt by hand. Everyone worked as a team to remove this in under 3 hours! WOW!

Thanks to Matthew Green, Ray Mulholland, Larry Pattison, MOECC (Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change), and Green Ventures for being here today to help us with this massive undertaking. Thanks as well to our Hamilton Public Health Nurse and our Tastebuds (SPRC) contact for coming and helping with this undertaking.

We couldn’t have run our kids zone without the support of the Hamilton YMCA Youth Leadership Program or our Mohawk College CYW placement students.

The biggest and loudest thanks must go to the students, parents, guardians, staff, and community members who came out to support because they BELIEVE in the potential of Adelaide Hoodless School.

The day was such a success because we came together with all of our community partners. We can’t do this alone.

We are an incredible school in an incredible community.

Please save October 28th as this is our planting day!

This is just the beginning of amazing things to come.
