Things are getting busy at Adelaide…

The soup fest that was held on March 2 by Ms. Kondo’s class raised over $2000 to send a student with Autism to a specialized summer camp with one to one support for campers. Adelaide was profiled in the Spectator as well as on the HWDSB website. Please visit https://youtu.be/J2NuACaWCQ to view the video.

Ms. Kondo’s class is returning to Tim Horton’s Camp the first week of April to consolidate their learning and expand on their leadership skills. Ms. Kondo and a few representatives from her class will be attending a special presentation at Hillfield Strathallan College of Friday, March 31. Our ongoing relationship with HSC has a close connection with our opportunity to attend Tim Horton’s camp.

Junior Girls and Boys basketball is underway. Both of our senior teams had strong seasons, especially the boys, but we did not progress past the semi-finals. Intermediate swim team has begun and the practices are moving swimmingly along.

Our Health Action Team, under the supervision of Mrs. Dockray and our Public Health Nurse Ms. E. Ward, created a music video to share their messages of how to live a healthy and balanced life.  They also had a button competition to promote mental wellness and healthy living.

A talent show is being planned for students in grades 4-8.  Auditions are underway and the show is scheduled to be held May 25th.
