Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board has 11 Trustees who are elected to serve parents, students, taxpayers and the school system. Trustees are the link between communities and school boards, ensuring public schools meet the diverse needs of students and taxpayers in their communities.
Meetings of the Trustees – Trustees meet on a regular basis at public meetings. Agenda items will include education and community-based issues of importance to the Board. Members of the public can request delegate status to present information to the Trustees. Minutes of each meeting are posted on the Web site after approval by Trustees. Individual trustees may be contacted directly by e-mail so you may share your concerns. Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) – this committee makes recommendations to the Board about matters related to the establishment, development and delivery of special education programs and services. SEAC minutes are posted for review.
School Board Policies

Audit Committee
HWDSB's Audit Committee will report directly to the Board of Trustees. The mandate of the Audit Committee of the Board is to provide oversight to the Board in the areas of:

- Internal Controls
- Internal Auditing
- External Auditing
- Compliance
- Risk Management

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is responsible for developing the Director’s Performance Appraisal, the Trustee’s Annual Work Plan, Trustees’ professional development, and Administer the Board of Trustee’s Annual Performance Evaluation.
